Spring Carnival

Date: Saturday, April 22nd

Time: 10:00 am – 2:00 pm

Place: Ted Blum 4-H Center

The day’s attractions will include games & activities, face painting & tattoos, a petting zoo, cotton candy, prizes, magic and more than 40 booths for the children to visit! The cost is $12 per child for all the activities. The adults are free. Food will be an extra charge.

This event is for the community in which all 4-H members can get involved, promote 4-H, and help support our organization. All proceeds will go to the Somerset County 4-H Association in support of the 4-H Youth Development Program.   View the flyer for more information.

BIG Rummage Sale

Date: Friday-Saturday, September 15-16, 2017

Time: 9am – 3pm (Saturday Closed 12:30-1pm, reopen at 1/2 price 1pm-3pm)

Place: Ted Blum 4-H Center

Item Drop Off: Monday-Wednesday, September 11th-13th, 9am-12noon and 6-8pm

Each year in September the 4-H Association holds a BIG Rummage Sale!

The rummage sale is held over the course of 2 days on a Friday and Saturday in September. De-clutter your home and save your best treasures to donate to the 4-H sale. Donations are accepted earlier in the week Monday-Wednesday.


Sale Items Accepted:

  • Gently used clothing
  • Bedding, Linens, Fabric
  • Books, Videos, DVDs, CDs
  • Antiques, Collectibles, New Gift Items
  • Housewares
  • Toys
  • Jewelry
  • Infant Goods
  • Furniture that is easily moved
  • Flat Screen TV’s Only
  • Laptop Computers Only

Items NOT Accepted for Sale:

  • Car tires or rims
  • Baby furniture and car seats not up to safety code
  • Encyclopedias, magazines
  • Upholstered furniture, mattresses, built-in furniture, press wood furniture
  • Computers without hard drives and with chips older than Pentium or equivalent
    computer monitors, all printers (dot matrix, laser, ink jet), large and heavy copiers, fax machines
  • Air conditioners; air purifiers/vaporizers; humidifiers
  • Larger, older models & built-in microwave ovens
  • Framed pictures with broken glass, unframed mirrors or loose glass
  • Halogen lamps without safety guards
  • Large appliances and tube TV’s
  • Sinks, toilets, toilet seats, tubs
  • Storm doors, screen doors, windows, & window screens
  • Venetian blinds or shades; drapes/curtains with foam rubber, fiberglass, or rubber backs
  • Wall-to-wall carpeting, rugs without binding
  • Hazardous waste, flammable items

Broken or dirty items will be refused.


Wreath Sales

Orders: October 1st-30th

Individuals are encouraged to order from a 4-H club member or call the center at 908-526-6644.

Club members must hand-in their orders and money to their club leaders, not to the 4-H Center.

Wreath Unloading: Friday, November 25th, 7:30am

Club Pick-up Times:

  • Saturday, November 26th, 9:00am-12:00pm
  • Monday, November 28th, 7:00-9:00pm
  • Tuesday, November 19th, 7:00-9:00pm

4-H Association Wreath Decorating Night: Wednesday, November 30th, 7:00pm

Place: Ted Blum 4-H Center


Festival of Trees

When: December 9 & 10, 2017, 10am – 3pm

It is a FREE event, open to the public. 4-members decorate trees with homemade ornaments for sale. There will be arts & crafts for the kids, local musicians and Santa will be there!!


Holiday Dinner

When: Monday, December 25, 2017, 2:00 – 4:00pm

Raffle Begins:

Place: Ted Blum 4-H Center

Cost: $  (includes a sheet of 20 tickets, door prize ticket and refreshments). Tickets can be purchased at the 4-H center office (Call for tickets: 908-526-6644 or e-mail the office.) Additional raffle & 50/50 tickets available at event.



All proceeds from this event will support the Somerset County 4-H Association

Prize Donations Needed

Donations of new items are needed to be used as raffle prizes. Have your 4-H club create a themed basked to donate! Donate that new holiday gift item that maybe just wasn’t right for you. All items should be new and in original packaging with a combined value of at least $20. But the committee can also use cash of any amount to be combined for big prizes, gift cards or single items. Be creative! Think about what you might like to receive as a gift. Please send or drop donations at the 4-H Office or the Night Managers Office by February 18th.
